10.12.25 – APFA DFW Base Brief – Six Month Update

As we reach six months into our term, we want to pause and thank each of you for your professionalism and dedication. We are proud to represent you and remain committed to serving with integrity and action.

Throughout this journey, we have remained steadfast in upholding our campaign commitments: FACTS, fiscal responsibility, accountability, confidentiality, timely communication, and safety and security. These principles continue to guide every decision we make.

Since taking office, one of our most meaningful accomplishments has been improving coordination and support during Irregular Operations (IROPs). In the past, members often lacked clear information and access to rest during extended delays. Through direct engagement with DFW leadership, we achieved important improvements, including:

• Clearer communication between Crew Scheduling, Inflight, and APFA.
• Increased management presence and on-site assistance.
• APFA input incorporated into response procedures.
• Better-managed Crew Service Centers (CSCs).
• Guaranteed access to crew rest areas during disruptions.

These changes ensure that during IROPs, members receive timely updates, proper rest access, and visible support.

We are pleased to share that, in addition to the APFA DFW conference room located in Terminal A, we have added a separate offsite office to better serve our members. We continue to advocate for a dedicated APFA office space at DFW Airport and remain in active communication with American Airlines to advance this initiative.

This decision was made to enhance the level of privacy, confidentiality, and neutrality available when conducting union business. While the airport conference room supports certain needs, it remains a shared environment within the company’s operational setting. By adding a secure, small, leased office suite at an offsite location, within the constraints of our base budget, we offer a space for our members to meet in confidence, free from airport access issues and management surroundings.

As Base Representatives, we remain accountable to you, the membership. We recognize that many of the cases we handle are not just procedural, but deeply personal—ranging from attendance issues, reserve challenges, and 35R investigations, to moments where careers may feel uncertain or at risk. In these moments, representation is more than contract enforcement; it is advocacy, support, and guidance through some of the most challenging points in our careers as Flight Attendants. Whether we are filing a Notice of Dispute or defending contractual rights, our commitment is to stand with you, listen to you, and ensure your voice is heard.
