1.26.26 – APFA DFW Base Brief – January 26, 2026

Monday, January 26, 2026
Dear DFW,
In the middle of a demanding operation, it’s critical that our members are fully informed and paid correctly for the work they do. Per Section 3.K.2 of our Contract, management has designated Tuesday, January 27, 2026, as an Incentive Day.
Here’s what that means for you:
What is Incentive Day Pay?
Any flying performed on January 27, 2026 will be paid at an additional 100% premium over your base hourly rate for hours flown.
- This applies to the greater of scheduled or actual hours flown.
- For Reserves, the 100% Incentive premium is paid above guarantee.
This includes:
- Trips you were originally scheduled to fly
- Trips picked up
- Rescheduled flying, even if the original sequence did not touch the Incentive Day
When does Incentive Pay apply?
If either the departure or arrival time (local station time) touches January 27, Incentive Pay applies to the entire flight segment.
It does not matter how the trip was obtained—if a flight leg touches January 27, it qualifies.
Incentive Day + Red Flag Pay
If your Incentive Day flying overlaps a Red Flag sequence, the pays stack.
Example:
- Red Flag = 50% premium
- Incentive Day = 100% premium
You will receive both, with Incentive Day pay added on top of Red Flag pay for hours flown on January 27.
Important Clarifications
- Incentive Day pay does not apply to position premiums (Lead, Galley, International, Speaker, etc.).
- Incentive Pay is pay-no-credit and does not count toward TTS Max.
Reserves & Airport Standby
- Standby on Incentive Day + flying that departs a non-Incentive Day → Incentive pay applies to the standby shift only.
- Standby on Incentive Day + flying that departs on January 27 → Incentive pay applies to flight time only.
- Standby on Incentive Day with no flying → Incentive pay applies to the standby shift.
Calling in Well
Calling in well has been activated for all bases.
- You may not fly on the first day of a sick call.
- You may fly on all subsequent days.
As always, stay informed, protect your contract, and look out for one another. If you have questions or see pay issues, reach out to us:Â [email protected]
