Your Vote Matters in the 2026 Primaries!
Primary elections are underway! When and how are YOU voting?
Voting in your state’s Democratic or Republican Primary election sets the stage for November’s General Election by determining which candidates will appear on the ballot. The Primary election is one of the most important opportunities we have to make our voices heard, not just as citizens, but as aviation professionals whose safety and livelihoods are directly impacted by state and federal policies.
The 2026 Election is a midterm election (non-Presidential). It will decide all 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and 33 of 100 U.S. Senate seats. In fact, most Congressional races will be decided during Primary elections as many Congressional districts are considered “safe” Democratic or Republican districts.
Congress oversees key agencies that directly affect aviation, including DOT, FAA, DHS, and TSA. Critical issues like aviation safety regulations, healthcare, and retirement security are all on the ballot. By being an engaged voter, you help ensure that our voices – the voices of 28,000 APFA members – are represented at every level of government.

Cast Your Vote Early
The nature of our job may unexpectedly prevent us from voting in person on Election Day. The best way for Flight Attendants to ensure that our ballots are counted is to vote early.

Dates may change. Always check www.vote.org for the latest information!
Keep an eye out for a Base Brief as your state’s Election dates approach.
Did you know APFA members live in all 50 states?! In addition to our base states, we also have over 250 members in the states of Ohio, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri and Tennessee.

Encourage Your Crew to Register Now and Vote Early
Together, we can help shape the policies that impact our profession, our industry, and our futures. Your vote, your voice!
Did you know the nationwide voter registration rate (69.1%) for the last midterm congressional election in 2022 was the highest registration rate of a midterm election in 30 years? However, the voter turnout rate (52.2%) was lower than in the 2018 (53.4%) midterm elections.
Nearly half of Americans did not vote in the last midterm election. With so much at stake, make sure you exercise your voice in both the Primary and General Elections!
Support Pro-Flight Attendant Candidates! Join the APFA PAC today!
The APFA PAC strengthens our Union’s ability to build relationships on Capitol Hill and work directly with members of Congress on the legislation and regulation that impact our safety, scheduling protections, and job security.
Corporations and their executives have the ability to make large political contributions, giving them more access to members of Congress when there are issues of interest and concern. Individually, most of us don’t have that kind of money, but by joining together, our contributions add up and create a collective voice that is impactful during elections and beyond.
