3.23.26 – APFA LAX Base President Brief – Transitioning From AA Sick Time to California State Disability

Hey All,

Following reports of difficulties experienced by LAX flight attendants going on California State Disability, I began working with the company on the AA HDQ level to smooth the transition.After some delays due to a management shakeup at HDQ, I am happy to report that we finally were able to develop a form in COMPLY which will enable LAX flight attendants to easily transition to State Disability.

Submission of this form will notify the company of your intent to go on State Disability and will also simplify the process in getting your sick time usage turned off since we cannot collect Disability and Sick Time concurrently.

I will be revising my “State Disability Made Easy” packet this week to reflect this change, and will be happy to email it to anybody who requests it.

Please note that this applies only to California State Disability…NOT Workers Comp.
