5.01.26 – APFA DFW Base Brief – Me@Work Update

Me@Work Update

Friday, May 1, 2026

Dear DFW,

We have received a wide range of feedback regarding the rollout of the Me@Work tool. Some view it as beneficial. Others have raised serious and valid concerns.

Let us be clear:

This is not about resisting accountability.

This is not about opposing strong customer service.

Flight Attendants demonstrate professionalism and dedication every single day—often under challenging and unpredictable conditions.

This is about protection.

APFA Position — Clear and Firm

APFA has formally raised concerns and initiated dispute action regarding the implementation of Me@Work. Our position is grounded in one principle:

No system used to evaluate Flight Attendants should be accepted unless it is transparent, accurate, and contractually compliant.

Key Issues Identified

We are challenging this rollout based on the following:

Lack of Transparency

  • No clear explanation of how Customer Satisfaction Scores (CSS) are calculated
  • No visibility into how FA-coded delays are assigned or weighted
  • No ability for Flight Attendants to verify or challenge the data

Unreliable and Misleading Data

  • Customer feedback is frequently driven by factors outside of our control
  • Metrics may reflect operational failures—not individual performance
  • Data without safeguards creates a distorted evaluation environment

No Operational Context

  • Real-world conditions are ignored, including:
    • Irregular operations (IROPs)
    • Staffing shortages
    • Aircraft swaps and delays
    • Passenger behavior and onboard challenges
  • Without context, data becomes incomplete and fundamentally flawed

Future Discipline Risk

  • While labeled “non-punitive,” history has shown these systems often evolve
  • What begins as “informational” can become disciplinary
  • We will not allow the normalization of a tool that can be used against our members

Our Responsibility to You

APFA will not accept systems that:

  • Lack transparency
  • Cannot be verified
  • Misrepresent the realities of our work
  • Create pathways for future discipline outside the intent of our Contract

We are committed to:

  • Defending contractual protections
  • Challenging flawed systems
  • Holding the Company accountable

What You Should Know

  • A Notice of Dispute (NOD) was filed on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The case is now active and being pursued.
  • This process may take time—but we will not allow this issue to be ignored
  • We will continue to push for full transparency, accountability, and fairness

Bottom Line

This is not about resisting change.

This is about ensuring change is fair, accurate, and just.

We will not allow flawed data or unclear metrics to define your performance—or your career.
