5.16.26 – APFA DCA Base Brief – Me@Work

Me@Work
Saturday, May 16, 2026
On April 8, the company invited APFA leadership — including Base Presidents, Vice Presidents, and National Officers — to attend a Microsoft Teams meeting regarding the rollout of a new application called “Me@Work,” which will be housed within MyFlight.
This meeting marked the first time APFA leadership was made aware of the application and its planned implementation. Prior to this meeting, the union was not invited to participate in discussions regarding the development of the program, how it would be structured, how metrics would be measured or scored, or how the overall process could impact Flight Attendants. Instead, APFA leadership was informed that the application would move forward and be rolled out by the company.
The application is designed to track and score Flight Attendants on a variety of operational metrics. These metrics may include gate scanning compliance, reporting for duty, customer complaints, customer survey feedback, onboard credit card performance, sales activity, and other operational measurements identified by the company.
While APFA understands the company’s need to remain competitive and successful in today’s marketplace, we strongly believe that any application of this nature should involve meaningful union input prior to implementation.
Had APFA been included during the development process, we could have worked collaboratively with the company to establish clear expectations, transparency, and appropriate safeguards to ensure that no Flight Attendant would face punitive action or disciplinary consequences based on a score or metric that may be considered below average.
With these concerns in mind, the DCA APFA Base Leadership has filed a base grievance requesting that the company pause the rollout of the “Me@Work” application until the union is fully included in substantive discussions beyond demonstrations and presentations. In addition, we are seeking protections through a formal Letter of Agreement to ensure that any metrics collected through this application cannot and will not be used for disciplinary purposes.
APFA specifically inquired whether participation in the application would be voluntary. We were informed that there is no requirement for the Flight Attendant to open the app. Additionally, we were advised that the application is not currently being implemented across other employee groups within the company in the same manner. This has raised additional concerns regarding fairness, consistency, and the overall intent behind the program.
We have heard from many of you regarding the “Me@Work” application. Some members have expressed significant concerns and opposition to the program, while others believe certain aspects of the application could help encourage accountability and support operational performance among Flight Attendants.
APFA recognizes and respects the differing opinions surrounding this rollout. We agree that remaining competitive in today’s environment is important. At the same time, we believe that any program designed to evaluate or measure Flight Attendant performance must include transparency, union involvement, and contractual protections to ensure fairness and prevent the potential misuse of operational metrics.
