TSA’s New Crewmember Access Point (CMAP) Program Coming Soon
Friday, June 12, 2026
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is preparing to launch the next evolution of the Known Crewmember (KCM) program through a new platform called the Crewmember Access Point (CMAP). Initial deployment is scheduled to begin on June 22, 2026, with additional airports being added through September 2026.
Initial Deployment Schedule
June 22, 2026
- Washington Reagan (DCA)
- Washington Dulles (IAD)
Week of June 29, 2026
- Las Vegas (LAS)
Additional airports will be added beginning in late June and continuing weekly through September. TSA has not yet released the full deployment schedule.
What We Know So Far
Based on information currently available, CMAP will utilize biometric facial comparison technology to verify eligible crewmembers, similar to the technology currently used with TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID.
Participation in CMAP will be voluntary, and Flight Attendants must choose to opt in if they wish to participate.
During the transition period, Flight Attendants should continue carrying their KCM barcode credentials and a valid government-issued photo ID, as current KCM procedures will remain in effect.
Additional Information Coming Soon
Many details regarding enrollment, participation, and operational procedures are still being finalized. APFA is actively engaged with both American Airlines and TSA and will provide additional updates as more information becomes available, including:
- How to opt into the CMAP program
- Where to access enrollment and program information
- What to expect during the initial deployment phases
- Program requirements
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
American Airlines is also expected to communicate program details directly to Flight Attendants prior to the June 22 rollout.
We encourage all Flight Attendants to monitor upcoming APFA Safety & Security Communications for the latest information and updates regarding CMAP.
