January 2025 PHL Staffing and Allocations

Hello PHL,

Our January Staffing and Allocations Call was this week. Here is what we know:

VLOA’s will be offered for the month of January. A total of 537 VLOA’s will be offered systemwide. PHL will have 51 VLOA’s available to bid! Bidding opens December 3rd and closes December 7th.

The System Line Average is 77.5. PHL is expected to open with a line average of 77.4. Keep in mind  this number can change based on bidding behavior.

RESERVES

The initial Reserve number is 455, which is 18.6% compared to 19% in January of 2024. The system average is 21.6%.

There will be no New Hire FA’s in January 2025.

ALLOCATIONS

PHL has a total of 140,528 block hours. That is a loss of 2096 hours over last month. The main driver for the loss of block hours is the pulldown of IPD flying and ODAN flying.

Dates of significance: Martin Luther King, Jr. day is Monday January 20th. Inauguration Day is Monday January 20th. January Schedule Change is Tuesday January 7th.

ODANS

With a substantial reduction in ODAN flying for the month of January, BOS, PIT, and PWM are the only ODANS available to bid. This is a result of the reduced Holiday schedule and reallocation of resources to support several events across the system. The majority of ODANS were allocated to DFW and CLT while LGA, BOS, and LAX did not receive any.

IPD
There are significant changes to our IPD schedule in January.

• DOH will continue to be staffed with 10 FA’s.
• DOH, LHR, BCN, and DUB will operate all month.
• LIS will operate thru the 28th with the 28th being a 4-Day trip with double DH’s home. (RON’s in LIS and LHR)
• FCO will operate 1st thru the 10th. On the 11th, it is a 4-Day trip working over and double DH’s home. (FCO and LHR RON’s)
• MAD will operate everyday except the 21st, 26th, and 28th. Sequences on the 20th, 25th, and 27th will be 4-Day trips with a 49+35 RON.
• CDG will operate 1st – 5th. On the 6th, it is a 4-day sequence that works to CDG and RON’s, DH to MIA and RON, work back to PHL on day 4.
• ZRH will operate the 1st-4th. On the 5th, it will operate as a 4-day trip working to ZRH and RON, DH to LHR and RON, then DH to PHL on day 4. On the 27th, it resumes with a DH to LHR and RON, DH to ZRH and RON, work back to PHL. The 29th and 30th are operating as  normal sequences.
• AMS will operate as usual on 1st thru the 5th, 10th–12th, 17th–19th, 24th-26th. Sequences on the 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 22nd, 27th, and 29th are 4-day trips with an RON of 48+ hours.

Please make sure, when bidding, you are aware of the pauses and changes to our IPD schedule.

WBT TRAINING DUE JANUARY 20th, 2025

The 4th Quarter WBT includes differences training for the newly acquired 787-9P. Deadline to complete this training is January 20, 2025.

787 DOMESTIC FLYING

There is a daily DFW 2-Day on the 787. We also have a PHX 2-Day on the 13th.
