12.06.24 – APFA LGA Base Brief – Important Message from the LGA Base President

Important Message from the
LGA Base President
Friday, December 6, 2024
Historically, APFA and AA have handled operational incidents that impact individuals collaboratively. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been happening locally here in New York. Specifically, there has been a lack of follow-up and consideration of human factors, something essential after a critical incident.
As the leader of this base, I must reinforce the importance of your rights. We will not continue to do management’s work. Instead, we remind you of your right to Union representation; even for something seemingly as small as responding to an email, phone call, or any form of communication, it is our RIGHT. Our rights are not just a formality; they are powerful tools that empower us in our work environment and allow us to expect fair and equitable treatment from any member of management and the public.
I want to assure you of my unwavering commitment to supporting all Flight Attendants in New York through constructive discussions with management. I am dedicated to enhancing our careers and revisiting previously proposed initiatives to strengthen the relationship between Union & Company. Still, we need an approach that frees our crew managers from micro-management and delivers results to EVERYONE, not just the corporation.
Please remember to use our base admin email for all your representation needs. Rest assured, we are here to support you every step of the way.
In Solidarity,
Christian M. Santana
