APFA ORD PBS Basics Town Hall –  January 13

On January 13, APFA ORD will host two sessions for PBS basics to help members who may have never before bid for a line in PBS. There will be an in-person option and a virtual option, which we anticipate will be posted on the ORD base page afterwards. There will be a separate base brief with a link to join the virtual option.

• Valentine’s Day: Friday, February 14
• Presidents’ Day: Monday, February 17

February Voluntary Leaves of Absence (VLOAs)

Under the 2024 CBA 25.B, Voluntary Leaves of Absence (VLOA) are available at all bases for the February 2025 bid month. 43 unpaid VLOAs are being offered for ORD. The company has stated that VLOAs for February are being offered due to a regular seasonal reduction in flights.

The bidding window will close Tuesday, January 7 at 1200 (CT). You may access the ballot in Comply365 > My Forms > AAFA > FA Voluntary Leave of Absence (VLOA). Flight Attendants awarded a VLOA will receive a CCI message.

Allocations
There remains 2 IPD departures – both London.

We still have no wide body domestic flying, but will continue to ask for it. It would be nice to see considering the lack of other flying available in base.

Turns and two-days continue to be lower than the goal numbers we would like to see.

Staffing

The RSV percentage for January is 19.2% in ORD vs a system average of 19.3%

Class 25-01 will graduate at the end of February and begin flying March 3rd. Hopefully they will come to Chicago.
