1.08.25 – APFA LAX Base Brief- Southern California Wildfires

As the most destructive wildfires in LA history continue to rage, we support our coworkers affected by this calamity.

The Palisades Fire has currently overtaken approximately 15,800 acres stretching from Malibu to Santa Monica.

The Eaton Fire covers 10,000 acres and has overtaken Altadena.

The Hurst Fire currently covers 500 acres and is spreading rapidly.

More than 150,000 residents across the county are under evacuation orders. Over 1100 structures have been destroyed.

Earlier today, I sent a request to VP of Flight Service Bobbi Wells; Cindi Simone, Managing Director, Labor Relations; Andrew Masiello, LAX Base Manager; and Julie Hedrick, APFA National President requesting a Letter of Agreement to protect our flight attendants affected by the Southern California wildfires.

If you are in the danger zone, please take care of yourself and your family. Your safety, well-being and peace of mind are far more important than any sequence.

The LAX family has always stood strong in the face of adversity. We are all here to support you, and to support each other.
