When PBS processing begins, if additional Lineholders are needed, those with Reserve status will be changed to Lineholder status in the following order:

1. Tentative Flight Attendants whose preference was Lineholder in the LRD process.
2. Reserve Flight Attendants who toggled to Pref LH in the LRD who were unable to hold Lineholder status in LRD.
3. Most junior Reserve Flight Attendants involuntarily moved to Lineholder status after all the above have been utilized.

Important: If you are in one of these 3 categories above, you will want to bid 7 layers of Reserve and 7 layers of Lineholder in PBS.

IAD flying hours has increased 2 months in a row and is going back in the right direction and as stated we will continue to push for increases in our co terminals

Year over year block hours have increased by 13.6% the largest percentage increase among crew bases as we continue to voice for better and increased flying opportunities.

• April will not be a flex month
• The contractual targeted credit range default is 70-90 with an opening line average of 77.6% down a whole percentage point from last year.
• Reserve percentage is down 1% from last year in April of 2024
• Line average and Reserve numbers may increase as we get into the busy travel season ahead
• DCA April most senior reserve starting at 25,974 (February 29, 2024)

DCA will be receiving new hires throughout the month with a total of 65 Flight Attendants with 5 classes. 2 classes will bid in PBS and 3 classes will be assigned a Reserve line.

APFA Annual Board of Directors Convention

The APFA Annual Board of Directors Convention will be held March 26-27, 2025, at The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. Dianne Britton and I will be attending, representing DCA.

Former United States Secretary of Labor, Julie Su, will be a guest speaker at the convention. She played a crucial role in pushing the company at the negotiating table, resulting in our industry-leading Tentative Agreement. Julie Su will speak on Thursday, March 27, at 3:30 PM (CT).

Daylight Saving Time

Daylight Saving Time (DST) starts for most of the U.S on Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 AM local time.

I want to take a moment to recognize and thank all of you for the unity and respect you’ve shown in the face of many challenges that have impacted DCA, from the American Airlines PSA aircraft tragedy to the heartbreaking loss of our fellow Flight Attendant Jane DeRamus and our Union regional representative Mark Gentile, we have endured a great deal.

Over the past few months, we’ve navigated weather disruptions, operational challenges, and the daily demands of our work. Still, through it all, you have remained resilient and dedicated, and I want to express my deepest appreciation for each of you. Our hearts continue to be with the families, friends, and colleagues of those we have lost, and we honor their memory as we move forward together.

There is a memory book in the DCA crew room where you can leave your thoughts and condolences for Jane’s family. Thank you.
