3.30.25 – APFA BOS Base Brief – Sunday, March 30, 2025

Sunday, March 30, 2025

Dear Boston Flight Attendants,

As my term in union leadership ends, I express my deepest gratitude for the last two years. Serving as your representative has been one of my career’s most challenging yet rewarding experiences. I am incredibly proud of the work we have done together.

Throughout this role, I have witnessed firsthand the power of solidarity—how we show up for one another, fight for fair treatment, and push for the respect we deserve. The strength of our union isn’t in a title or a few voices at the table; it’s in each of you. Every conversation, every vote, every act of support strengthens our collective power.

As I leave this position, I encourage you to ask yourself daily, “How can I be a better union member?”. A strong union isn’t just about your leadership team—it’s about active, involved members who understand that change happens when we demand it together. What does that really mean, though? A union is not like a vending machine of services; it is a coalition of workers who stand against management to improve our lives and careers. We pay union dues and elect leaders to provide ourselves with resources to protect the contract we fought for. My plans for the future are to be a good union member: show my solidarity, volunteer when I can, speak up when I need to, and always stand together. I invite you to:

🔹 Stay Informed – Read APFA hotlines and base briefs, attend town halls and virtual meetings. Participate in all union elections. Know your contract.

🔹 Speak Up – If you see something—a contract violation, a scheduling issue, or mistreatment—report it and let others know you will stand with them. Your voice matters.

🔹 Support Each Other – Wear your union pin and lanyard EVERY DAY like it is a part of your uniform. This small acts is showing solidarity with your fellow flight attendants. Help educate new hires, back each other on the line, and remember that we are strongest when we stand together.

🔹 Get Involved – Consider volunteering, running for a position, or simply reaching out to your base representatives to ask where you can help—even small actions like discussing current issues with other members.

Thank you for your trust, passion, and willingness to fight for what is right. I look forward to continuing to stand beside you—not as a leader but as a fellow member—committed to the exact cause: a fair and just workplace for all.

Warmly,

Nicole Tennenbaum

To BOS Flight Attendants,

As I come to the end of my term as the BOS APFA Base President, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our journey together and express my deepest gratitude for the support and trust you’ve shown throughout my time in office.

Serving as your President and Vice President for the past six years has been a great privilege and honor, and I couldn’t have asked for a more passionate and committed group of individuals to work alongside. From the challenges we’ve faced to the victories we’ve celebrated; each step has been made possible by the collective strength of our membership.

During my time in office, we’ve been through a pandemic, furlough, numerous picketing events, terminal walks, Strike Authorization Vote and ratified an industry-leading Contract. I am proud of everything we have achieved. None of this would have been possible without your hard work, dedication, and resilience. You’ve each played a vital role in making our union stronger.

I would like to extend a special thank you to Nicole Tennenbaum, Devyn Gourley and our BOS CAT Team – Anna Myers, Caleb Yang, Martin Temple and Will Griswold. Your unwavering dedication, teamwork, and support have been the backbone of everything we’ve accomplished. From the countless hours you’ve spent brainstorming ideas, tackling tough challenges, and ensuring that our Membership receive the contract that we earned, I am deeply thankful for each of you. You’ve made my role as President meaningful, and I couldn’t have done it without you. I’m proud to have worked alongside such a talented, driven group of individuals.

While my time as President is coming to an end, I’m excited about what the future holds for all of us. We have laid a strong foundation for continued progress, and I have full confidence that the next BOS leadership team, Luke Williams and Kea Serikaku, will build on the work we’ve started. Please be sure to save their contact information:

Thank you once again for the honor of serving as your President. I look forward to seeing all the incredible things we will continue to accomplish, and I am excited to remain part of this journey with you.

With heartfelt thanks,

Kelli Powers
