4.19.25 – APFA DFW Base Brief – April 19, 2025

Saturday, April 19, 2025
DFW Flight Attendants,
As your newly elected President, Vice President, and Base Council Representatives, our mission is to serve and protect you. We aim to provide fair representation and help create a safer, more supportive work environment for everyone.
Currently, we are managing one of the largest and busiest bases in the system. This transition from old to new leadership is about more than just names on a roster. It signifies a cultural change.
With summer approaching, we will see two things increase: warm cabins and unaccompanied minors (UMNRs). Both require our awareness and teamwork. Here’s what you need to know:
Warm Cabin Reminders
While we can’t control the heat outside, we can support each other onboard. If you encounter issues with warm cabins, please fill out the Hot Cabin Report on APFA.org. These reports help the union document trends and advocate for solutions.
UMNR Safety Reminders
Summer brings more kids traveling alone. Please stay alert and adhere to protocol.
As your Union representatives, we are committed to ensuring American Airlines follows the policies, procedures, and contract agreements. We encourage our members to stay informed.
When we stand united in understanding and following the contract, we protect one another.
Hotel and Transportation Feedback Form
Use this form to report your experiences with our hotels and transportation— whether positive, negative, or neutral. Positive feedback helps protect the hotels you wish to keep.
Contact Us
We are here for you. If you want to learn more, observe, volunteer, or need support, reach out to us. Schedule an appointment. This is our base, and our union functions best when we all show up for each other.
CQ Online Training Feedback
Flight Attendants who have started their 2025-2026 CQ web-based training modules have reported that the time required exceeds the contractual limit. According to Section 29.G.2 of the CBA, distance learning may not exceed 8 hours.
To address this concern with management and challenge the module length, we need your feedback. If you’ve completed or are currently completing CQ training, please visit fill out the CQ WBT Completion Times form to report your total time spent.
Help us ensure this training remains contractually compliant.
If you require base representation, please email us at [email protected]Â or call 817-953-6445.
We’re here for you.
The DFW Team.
In Unity,
Robin Reitz
APFA DFW Base President
