5.22.25 – APFA MIA Base Brief – Resignation of MIA Base Vice President

Resignation of MIA Base Vice President
Thursday, May 22, 2025
All,
This week, I was informed by the APFA MIA Base Vice President Javier Rodriguez-Alèman of his intention to resign from his position effective May 31, 2025. I want to thank him for his service to the base since the beginning of our term and wish him the best as he returns to flying.
With his resignation and more than six (6) months in his term remaining, it will trigger a Vice President election. The APFA National Ballot Committee will send out communication in the upcoming days with the election timeline.
Until the election process is complete and a new VP has been named, I am appointing Alba Toledo as the Interim APFA MIA Base Vice President effective June 1, 2025. Alba is a current MIA Base Council Representative (BCR)Â helping in the day-to-day operations. She was also very instrumental with the Contract ACTION Team (CAT) and our picket leader for many years in MIA. I would like to thank Alba for stepping into the role temporarily.
As we now have an upcoming election, this is a great time to make sure that you are dues current and that APFA has your most up to date contact information. Please visit APFA.org and check your account. Your voice matters and I want every MIA Flight Attendant to vote in this election.
In Unity,
