6.07.25 – APFA DFW Base Brief – Inflight Management Restructure

Saturday, June 7, 2025
Hello DFW,
As many of you have heard, changes are underway within American Airlines’ leadership. On Friday, June 6th, your APFA DFW team met with management to discuss what these transitions mean for our base and, more importantly, for you.
While management initiated these changes on their end , acknowledging the need for fresh direction after many years of the same structure , we were clear in emphasizing that the morale and well-being of Flight Attendants must remain front and center. We know you’ve been carrying a heavy load, and it’s time leadership takes meaningful steps to support you.
As part of this shift, management will begin taking on more visible roles, including walking the terminal, ramping flights, and engaging directly with crews. We want you to know that we’ll also be present during this time, ensuring that your voice is heard and protected.
Look for us in the airport and operations. We’ll be out walking the terminals, available to answer questions, provide support, and listen to your concerns. You’ll recognize us by our blue APFA lanyards, and we’ll have extras for anyone who’d like one, along with the new blue APFA Union pins.
These first few days of transition are a real opportunity: speak up, ask for what you need, and don’t hesitate to let management know what would truly improve your experience on the line.
As always, we are here not as observers but as your advocates. We are committed to ensuring that any change is measured by its impact on you, the front-line Flight Attendant. Let’s use this moment to push for real, lasting improvements.
Finally, a reminder: Know your contract. Knowledge is power, and the more we understand our rights and responsibilities, the stronger we are together.
In Unity,
The APFA DFW Team
