6.09.25 – APFA PHL Base Brief – July 2025 Staffing and Allocations

July 2025 PHL Staffing and Allocations

Monday, June 9, 2025

Hello PHL,

Our Allocations call was held on Tuesday, June 3rd.

July is the pinnacle of our summer flying AND our first opportunity to earn a Banked Point! For Lineholders, if you touch any day of the critical period, without any call-offs (including FMLA) you will earn a banked point. For RSV F/A’s, if you work a sequence, serve on a RAP, sit a STBY shift with no call-offs (including FMLA), you will earn a banked point. If you are on probation, you may earn a banked point but are unable to use them until your probationary period is completed.

The week of July 4th includes cuts and changes in the flight schedule. For our commuting F/A’s, please be aware of any scheduled flight cuts and changes during this critical period.

ALLOCATIONS

PHL flying has gained 1,978 hours compared to June. This is with reductions in the banks on Tue, Wed, and Sat. Our total flying hours for the month is 170,686. The Company is trying to align the FA trips more with the Pilots. This creates a bit more sit time and may lead to more sit rig pay. Pay attention! Refer to Contract Implementation Update #26 from the CIC for more information.

NEW HIRES

We welcome the 31 new hire Flight Attendants that are joining us in June. These new hire’s are not included in the LRD for July. Only 17 of those will be eligible to bid in PBS while the additional 14 will be added after bids close. Our year to date total is 343! I know everyone will be sure to give them a warm Philly welcome when you see them on the line. 😊

RESERVES

The peak of our summer flying brings higher RSV numbers. The number of projected RSV F/A’s jumps from 572 in June to 618 in July. The system-wide average is projected to be 24.4%. PHL is projected to be at 22.4%, down from 22.8% in July of last year.

STAFFING

July’s monthly line average is projected to be 82.7 hours, up from 81.5 hours in June. Systemwide, the line average is projected at 82.5 hours, up from 80.6 hours in June. These numbers are subject to change based on bidding behaviors.

There will be no Voluntary Leaves of Absence (VLOAs) offered for July.

SEQUENCE STATISTICS

ODANs

ODANs have increased slightly for July. RDU, BGR, BDL, PVD, PIT, PWM, and BOS are available to bid this month.

IPD

The Company has made the decision to staff DOH with 9 F/A’s for July. As a result of this unacceptable reduction in bid positions, we are tracking the flight and duty time each day in June to prove to them AGAIN, that the 10th FA position is crucial to the success of this market. Should the Company return the #10 position, we will communicate how to bid for the position. (i.e. open time). This is and has been unacceptable! We should not have to fight this battle EVERY YEAR!

We have 2 positioning flights in July. Seq #588 on 04JUL25, ZRH and Seq #587 on 04JUL25, DUB.

NIPD

There is a new destination to bid. BJX, Guanajuato, MX. Seq # 5071 on 14JUL25, and Seq #5085 on 22JUL25. Check them out!

DOMESTIC WIDEBODY FLYING

There is an increase in domestic wide-body flying in July. Two-day trip to MIA beginning on 04JUL25. We also have a multi-leg trip with an ORD overnight on 04JUL25. We also have a 2-day sequence with an LAX overnight on 06JULY25, and a MIA turn in the beginning of the month.

*Please review each sequence before you bid. We are seeing multiple a/c downsizing and mixed crews on this type of domestic flying. When bidding in TTS/UBL/ETB, review the trip to look for these possible changes.

PIT SATELLITE

PIT gained 92 hours this month compared to June. We have noticed an uptick of F/A’s picking up Satellite trips without realizing it’s a PIT trip. This results in our Coordinators having to scramble to fill the positions. PLEASE BE MINDFUL WHEN PICKING UP TRIPS IN ETB AND TTS/UBL! When you are awarded a satellite trip, it is your responsibility to get to PIT to start the trip and get home when the trip ends. The Company does NOT provide DH’d to and from PIT.

VIRTUAL PHL BASE MEETING

We have scheduled a virtual PHL Base Meeting on Friday, June 13th, @ 1600 ET. Meet our new PHL Leadership Team, get the latest information on the Inflight Restructure Plan, and answers to any questions you may have. Questions may be submitted in advance to [email protected]. We look forward to seeing everyone!
