Today the new structure of AA inflight begins. This is a huge change from the system of support we have grown accustomed to in Chicago, and systemwide, over the past years.

Many managers with line rights returned to flying and some left American altogether.

The company should communicate with whom you can reach out to for help, and how they can assist you.

Base Virtual Town Hall

On Friday, June 13th at 1200, ORD APFA leadership will host a virtual town hall to discuss what changes we have learned regarding the restructure of flight service, and other hot topics. A link to this town hall will be sent out on Thursday.

Base Manager

As of today, Chicago does not have a base manager. When a new base manager is appointed, the company will communicate this to the base. We remain hopeful that Chicago will receive a leader who is willing to support Chicago actively, stay involved in the day-to-day operations of the base, be present in operations and the terminals, and advocate for the base. Chicago deserves a base manager who will advocate for people individually and the base as a whole.

Senior Crew Manager – Day to day issues 

With the traditional support no longer assigned to each of us (FSM, CM, manager, etc.) if you have day to day issues that require the support of a manager, there are now four dedicated senior crew managers tasked with providing support.

If you have a question, they should be able to answer and support you in a timely manner. If you have questions about anything, the company has the support and ability to assist you. If that is not happening, please let us know.

• Legalities 
• Pay Questions 
• Parking Issues 
• Travel  
• Travel for Bereavement 
• Benefits

Performance Managers

Similar to the attendance program, the company has created the role of performance manager. These managers will be tasked with reviewing everything that falls under the performance category of the company’s attendance and performance program.

If you have any questions about your performance record in MyView, contact the performance team and ask for help, information, and an explanation. They are there to support you.

You are contractually entitled to request a review of your company personnel records at any time. CBA 37.O.5, “A Flight Attendant may make an appointment with Inflight Managment to review the Flight Attendant’s file…” If you would like to schedule a meeting with your performance manager to review your records, these managers would be able to assist you.

To find your manager, in crew portal, click your name, or on a mobile device, click your profile, and the names and contact information for your respective managers should be listed. If you have any questions for any of your managers, don’t hesitate to reach out to them.
