7.02.25 – APFA MIA Base Brief – 2025 MIA Base Vice President Election

MIA Flight Attendants,
Today, the APFA National Ballot Committee (NBC) retrieved the Willingness-To-Serves (WTS) for the position of MIA Base Vice President. The NBC would like to thank the members who submitted a WTS to fill the remainder of this term.
The following candidates will be on the ballot for MIA Base Vice President:
- Barbara Chiclana
- Joseph Doane
- Alba Toledo
IMPORTANT: Electronic Voting Information
The National Ballot Committee is pleased to be able to offer this special election via Electronic/Online Voting with our vendor YesElections. You will be able to easily and securely vote electronically with the same method we utilized for the Strike, Tentative Agreement, and Dues Restructure Voting via APFA.org.
Voting will open on APFA.org on July 21, 2025. Electronic votes must be received no later than August 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM (CT). The ballot count will take place at APFA Headquarters and results will be sent to the MIA based membership.
MIA Base Vice President Term
Upon certification of the election results, the newly elected MIA Base Vice President will assume office on August 20, 2025, and the term will end on March 31, 2027.
Candidate Booklets
Candidate booklets will be available on the Union Elections page of APFA.orgthe week of July 7, 2025. Candidate information will be available to you throughout the balloting period. You can print the candidate information from the website or request a paper copy be mailed to you via the Union elections page on APFA.org.
Voter Eligibility
For your vote to count, you must be an active member in good standing by the close of the vote on August 20, 2025, at 10:00 am (CT) or an approved APFA Payment Plan by July 21, 2025, at 5:00 pm (CT). (APFA Constitution Article II, Section 4.A-C – Article VI, Section 4.B & 4.D). A member is considered in good standing so long as they have met their dues obligation, with no dues in arrears for more than sixty (60) days.
We strongly suggest you check your eligibility and dues balance on APFA.orgbefore the election closes, as eligibility is subject to change.
