Online voting for the 2025 MIA Base Vice President will open next week, onMonday, July 21, 2025, at 10:00am (CT) and will close at 10:00am (CT) on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Candidates on the ballot to fill the remainder of this term:
- Barbara Chiclana
- Joseph Doane
- Alba Toledo
IMPORTANT: Electronic Voting Information
The 2025 MIA Base Vice President Election will be conducted by secret ballot using Electronic (internet) voting, via APFA.org (same as Strike/TA/Dues Restructure Vote). After logging in, you will be passed over to the YesElections secure voting system. It’s important to note, that the balloting, and voting system is separate from all APFA systems.
Your vote is completely confidential. Neither APFA nor the election vendor will be able to access how you voted. Once a vote is cast, it cannot be changed!

Candidate information is now available on the “Union Elections” page on the APFA website, click the link above. Paper candidate booklets are available to be mailed to you upon request by completing the request form HERE.

Voter Eligibility
Make sure your prepared for the upcoming election! You must be an active member in good standing to vote—meaning your dues are paid, and you are not more than 60 days past due. (See: APFA Constitution Article II, Section 4.A–C; Article VI, Section 4.B & 4.D; APFA Policy Manual Section 14.M.4.A)
You will ONLY be allowed to vote if you’re in good standing at the time you go to cast your vote online, and as a reminder the vote will close on August 20, 2025, at 10:00am (CT). If you’re not a member in good standing, and you try to vote, you will receive an error message directing you to check your eligibility on APFA.org or contact the NBC.
To check your eligibility status or make any payments to be eligible to vote:
- Go to APFA.org and click “Login”
- Once logged in, any outstanding dues will appear in the top right corner.
- Click the balance to go directly to the payment screen.
