MIA Flight Attendants,

Online voting for the 2025 MIA Base Vice President is now OPEN as of 10:00 AM (CT) on Monday, July 21, 2025, and will close at 10:00 AM (CT) on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. 

Candidates on this ballot to fill the remainder of this term are:

  • Barbara Chiclana
  • Joseph Doane
  • Alba Toledo

You can access the ballot with the button below or by visiting APFA.org, both of which will take you to the secure voting website after logging in. No paper ballots or mailed credentials will be used in this special election.

IT CANNOT BE CHANGED OR WITHDRAWN.

The 2025 MIA Base Vice President Election is being conducted by secret ballot using electronic (internet) voting ONLY, through the YesElections secure voting system, accessible via APFA.org (same as Strike/TA/Dues Restructure Vote).

Your vote is completely confidential. Neither APFA nor the election vendor will be able to access how you voted.

Voter FAQ’s

Where do I vote? I haven’t received any balloting credentials.

Balloting credentials and paper ballots will not be mailed for this special election. To vote, click the “CLICK HERE TO VOTE” button above or visit APFA.org.

Log in using your APFA.org credentials; once logged in, your eligibility will be automatically verified, and you will be redirected to the secure YesElections voting site. Please note that the YesElections voting website operates independently from APFA systems; neither APFA or YesElections will be able to access how you voted.

What are the eligibility requirements to vote? How do I know if I’m a member in good standing?

To vote, you must be a MIA based member as of August 2025 and an active member in good standing—meaning your dues are paid, and you are not more than 60 days past due. (See: APFA Constitution Article II, Section 4.A–C; Article VI, Section 4.B & 4.D; APFA Policy Manual Section 14.M.4.A)

You will only be able to cast a vote online if you’re in good standing by 10:00am (CT) on August 20, 2025.

To check your eligibility status or make any payments to be eligible to vote:

  1. Go to APFA.org and click “Login
  2. Once logged in, any outstanding dues will appear in the top right corner.
  3. Click the balance to go directly to the payment screen.

I tried to vote and it’s not letting me; how do I get my voter eligibility updated?

Only members based in MIA as of August 2025 who are in good standing can cast a vote online. If you’re not in good standing or not based in MIA as of August 2025 and try to vote, you’ll get a notice to contact APFA.

Membership eligibility automatically updates throughout the election and after making any necessary payments. If you need assistance with dues or membership status, please contact the APFA Membership/Dues Department at: (817) 540-0108, #3 or [email protected].

Can I request a paper ballot?

No, voting for this special election is being conducted online only via APFA.orgas mentioned above.

If I already voted, can I change my vote?

No. Once you have submitted your ballot/vote online, that will be considered your received ballot. It cannot be changed or retracted once it has been submitted.

Where will the ballot count take place?

The ballot count and certification will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, 10:00 AM (CT) at:

Once the National Ballot Committee certifies the election results, a hotline will be sent to the MIA membership.
