 Parking
It’s that time of year again for DCA and IAD parking permits. The permits for the 2025-2026 fiscal year will be issued soon, and your current parking tags remain valid through September 30th. The company has released a CCI message with instructions on how to apply or reapply for parking hang tags.
As you know, there have been ongoing discussions about the parking process at IAD and BWI. We recently met with base management to emphasize the importance of adhering to our contract language. We will continue to monitor the situation, and if necessary, we are prepared to file an additional dispute this year.
All flight attendants based in DCA are eligible for parking at Reagan National Airport—no exceptions.
We have some good news regarding our DCA crew parking lot. After continued discussions with the airport authority and AA management, several important improvements are being implemented:
– **Rideshare Access**: Uber and Lyft drivers will no longer be allowed to remain in the lot beyond a one-hour time limit, which will be enforced through license plate recognition technology currently being implemented.
– **Security Enhancements**: Mobile security cameras are being installed, and lighting upgrades are in progress to improve visibility and overall safety.
– **Police Presence**: A police officer will be stationed in and around the crew lot each night at 10:00 PM to monitor activity and ensure the safety of our members. Additionally, police bike patrols will be dispatched throughout the day.
We would like to extend our thanks to our local government affairs representative, Alex Roberts, for his assistance, along with other unions on the property, in securing these critical safety measures. We will continue to monitor the progress and will revisit this matter if the upgrades are not implemented in a timely manner or if they fail to be carried out.
9/11 – We Will Never Forget!
Once again, this year your local APFA representatives will be attending the September 11 Memorial Ceremonies at the Pentagon, the US Capitol and Shanksville Pennsylvania, it has long been our tradition to honor and remember our fallen crew members and the civilians who lost their lives on that tragic day
APFA will be placing wreaths at both the Pentagon and Shanksville memorial sites, we will share photos and updates following next week’s ceremonies
