FAA Inspections
Over the last two weeks, the FAA has been showing up on AA flights to check a Flight Attendant’s knowledge of new IFM updates, the EFB for compliance and power status, and all mandatory items. Systemwide, a few Flight Attendants were sent home for missing mandatory items.
So that PHX FAs will not face the same fate, we would like to review our mandatory items:
- Valid Passport and documents (including visas if required)
- AA ID
- Powered on and charged EFB with updated IFM in the Comply365 App.
- Working flashlight (Personal PED and EFB flashlights are not acceptable)
- Wristwatch
- Company keys (737 and the new suite key)
Before starting each sequence, Flight Attendants should review all relevant updates to the IFM and familiarize themselves with any new information.
Reminder: Onboard Food Consumption
In case you missed it, the company recently sent out a CCIÂ message with the following information:
If you choose to consume or remove perishable items to enjoy on a layover, please follow these key guidelines:
- Flight Attendants may consume or remove remaining perishable items (e.g., sandwiches, fruit & cheese, milk, smoothies) after landing.
- You may remove perishable items for mid-sequence or layover consumption. Includes: Sandwiches, fruit & cheese, milk, smoothies. Excludes: Items double-provisioned for downline segments, non-perishable items (like snack basket items, Tray Table Tapas, and other packaged snacks), unopened beverages, alcohol, and all catering equipment and dishware.
- All perishable items intended for crew consumption must be recorded in MyFlight using the Crew Intended Consumption comp code.
