New York LGA Base Brief
NOR’EASTER IMPACTING NYC SUNDAY-MONDAY
To All New York Flight Attendants,
A Nor’easter is forecasted to impact the New York area today and Monday, bringing heavy rain, wind, and potential travel disruptions. Please take a few minutes to review the following reminders:
COMMUTERS: CBA 37. I.
If you are commuting by air or ground:
- Review the Commuter Policy (CBA 37.I) in the JCBA and know how to properly submit a Commuter Exemption through Direct Connect for any missed trips.
- If you travel using an interline agreement with other airlines that allows you to be listed at the gate by showing your company ID, please note these listings often do not generate a verifiable standby list with your name on it. Keep any boarding pass, ticket, or standby listing that shows your name, priority, or seat assignment for documentation.
ATTENDANCE AND PERFORMANCE
Local APFA Base Representatives do not handle attendance or performance matters. If your issue involves attendance, or performance, please contact your CPM or CM first.
Your local base council will remain available to assist if:
- Your Commuter Exemption or Direct Connect is denied & you are disputing it.
- You disagree with a CPM/CM decision and wish to discuss next steps.
Send all concerns and documentation to [email protected].
You may call/text the LGA Member Hotline: (800) 695-4265.
SAFETY FIRST
If you’re driving to the airport, check road and bridge conditions before leaving home. Should weather worsen en route, make your safety the top priority. If possible, contact Crew Scheduling or the Manager on Duty (MOD) to advise them if you’re delayed or unable to make your trip.
