A Loving Tribute to APFA Member & Flight Attendant Nishano Nicely

To Ms. Peaches Hopkins and Family,

On behalf of the APFA New York Base, and all who had the honor of knowing your daughter, please accept our deepest sympathy, love, and unwavering solidarity as you honor the life of your beautiful Nishano Nicely, today and always.

Within our APFA family of 29,000 Flight Attendants, not everyone had the privilege of meeting Nishano. Yet her legacy speaks for itself, and her family describes her best:

“Nishano was a constant ray of sunshine, brightening every dark cloud with her infectious smile and boundless energy. Her giggles were contagious, and her unconditional love for those around her was truly inspiring. She had a beautiful gift for making everyone feel seen and loved — a reflection of the remarkable woman she was and the strong, loving family that raised her.”

The news of her sudden passing has been deeply painful for all of us in New York, but we take comfort in knowing she is now flying high, forever in peace and light. Though our time with her in New York was brief, it was an honor to know her. She will always remain a part of our APFA family, and her absence will be truly felt.

Please know that during her time here, Nishano was surrounded by genuine support, care, and affection from her Union family. She was valued, respected, and deeply appreciated by every member whose life she touched. Her warmth, energy, and joyful spirit will remain with us and will continue to shine through the memories we carry.

To her mother, Peaches Hopkins, and her siblings Keneisha Smith, Brianna Forde, Sienna Forde, Everton Kent, and Sheldon Davis—may you find comfort in knowing that Nishano will forever be part of our APFA New York family. Her spirit remains a lasting reminder of joy, compassion, and love.
