1.01.26 – APFA DFW Base Brief – New Year 2026

Thursday, January 1, 2026
Dear DFW Flight Attendant Members,
As we step into 2026, we want to begin by wishing you a Happy New Year. A new year brings fresh energy, renewed focus, and the opportunity to continue building a strong and unified DFW base. While we know challenges remain ahead, we enter 2026 with optimism, resolve, and confidence in the future we are creating together.
Since taking office in April 2025, we have worked diligently to provide strong, fair, and compassionate representation. We have assisted our members not only by responding to possible disciplinary action, but by helping prevent it through education and early intervention. This proactive approach has helped reduce the number of Flight Attendants reaching termination levels while protecting careers and livelihoods.
We improved how meetings, investigations, and documentation are handled, ensuring information is professional, accurate, and ready should matters escalate to the DRC or SBA. We also raised expectations by insisting on professionalism, respect, and fair treatment in every interaction involving our members.
Trust has remained our top priority. We prove this by showing up, communicating consistently, and providing steady leadership during challenging situations such as Reserve Not in Position, commuter issues, DOT positives, attendance point confusion, and IROPs. Our goal has always been to bring clarity and advocacy when members need it most.
We are especially proud of the support provided to Flight Attendants facing attendance issues related to medical leave, family emergencies, or recovery. By recognizing patterns in discipline and attendance, we adjust how we coach and advocate, helping members avoid outcomes that could permanently impact their careers.
Operationally, your DFW team has worked to improve conditions at the base, including progress on crew room improvements, addressing safety concerns in employee parking areas, advocating for VLOA options, and maintaining ongoing communication with management to better assist Flight Attendants on the line.
We have successfully represented members in 35Rs and Notice of Dispute (NODs). While confidentiality limits what we can share, meaningful advocacy continues to make a real difference behind the scenes. Your DFW Base Reps also continue to participate in ongoing education covering Health, IOD, EAP, Contract interpretation, and Scheduling.
As we move forward in 2026, we remain committed to championing and serving this base with consistency and professionalism. We are proud of our DFW base, proud of the work we do, and proud to represent Flight Attendants who support one another every day.
We wish you a safe, healthy, and happy 2026.

Respectfully,
Robin Reitz
