1.03.26 – APFA MIA Base Brief – Caribbean Airspace Closure

Good morning, everyone. Alba and I were informed about the situation in Venezuela and the surrounding airspaces this morning. We have been in constant contact with the company to ensure that all our flight attendants in the affected layover cities are safe.

We understand that there have been many flight cancellations in the Caribbean today. As more information becomes available and the situation continues to evolve, we will monitor it closely. For now, pay protection will follow the normal CBA pay protections. We will initiate discussions with the company in the coming days regarding Flight Attendants who may have missed trips or lost pay due to this unforeseen airspace closure. Alba and I will keep you updated on any changes. The commuter policy can be found in CBA 37.I.
