1.29.26 – APFA PHX Base Brief – In Memoriam: Tony Tamer

Thursday, January 29, 2026
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of PHX Flight Attendant Anthony “Tony” Tamer on Tuesday January 26, 2026.

Tony began his career at America West in 1987, later graduating with class 77. His kind heart and smile immediately became part of the America West landscape.
His passion for anything Disney was shared with fellow crew members. Everyone who ever had the pleasure of flying with Tony has a happy story they can share about the experience. Which may be why Tony was always drawn to the happiest place on earth, Disneyland, where he found his inspiration to continue to make others happy.
More importantly to note, Tony had a fierce passion for defending the rights and dignity of his family, friends and community. He was always there when needed.
Tony is survived by his loving sister Dana, brother-in-law Jim, lots of loved nieces and nephews (who were always his favorite people…his words, not mine) and especially his beloved cat Lucy.
Information regarding services for Tony will be shared once they are available.
Respectfully,
Robin Agee
