2.22.26 – APFA DFW Base Brief – Serious Security Concerns at Three Mexico Destinations

Serious Security Concerns at
Three Mexico Destinations
Sunday, February 22, 2026
Dear DFW,
Serious security concerns remain in parts of Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Guadalajara (GDL), and Mazatlán (MZT).
Your safety must remain front and center in operational decisions.
Current Operational Status
- AA has canceled tomorrow’s GDL flight.
- Operations in MZT and PVR are currently planned to resume.
- Crews previously on the ground were instructed to shelter in place.
- Hotel stays were extended where necessary.
- Direct contact was made with affected crews.
Where We Stand
We have raised our serious concerns regarding the unstable conditions in the region and have communicated those concerns directly to AA management.
We are actively advocating to ensure your safety remains at the forefront as operational decisions continue to be made, and we will continue holding AA management accountable for properly supporting and protecting our crews.
What You Should Do
Continue to follow official company operational updates.
Document any irregularities, hotel concerns, or transportation issues.
There are established contractual processes in place to support our members when safety questions arise.
APFA’s Position
Flight Attendants are aviation safety professionals and essential to every operation.
We will continue pushing for appropriate protections, transparent communication, and meaningful safeguards for our DFW crews.
APFA is here if you need support.
Respectfully,
Robin & Luis
