April 2026 Staffing and Allocations
Friday, March 6, 2026
Hello Boston!
The monthly staffing and allocations call for April 2026 took place on the 3rd and here are the highlights.
Total headcount for the BOS Domicile has increased again to 840 (including inactive FA’s). Total active headcount is up to 817.

New Hires!
Training continues in full swing down at HQ! Boston is expected to welcome 25 new hires in April. Please be sure to give them a warm welcome as always! Reserve numbers for the month of April include that headcount. The first 2 April classes will arrive in time to bid for April schedules in PBS, while the 3 others that round out the 25 will be auto-assigned schedules for reserve.
Our flying hours for April have increased to 52,458, an about 2% increase over the MAR bid month. This number is about a 9% increase from the same month last year. Our reserve percentage drops again to 12.7%, a 0.8% decrease from the prior month, and a 1.3% decrease year-over-year. Thank you! There will be 104 flight attendants serving reserve in Boston for April. A decrease of 4 from the month prior, and a decrease of 1 from the year prior. Even with the significantly increased hours this is due to your hard work.
New hires joining the line can cause some confusion with reserve bidding and totals. 79 current active flight attendants in Boston will bid, and serve, reserve. The remaining 25 joining throughout April will round out the total to 104.
VLOA
VLOA is back! 13 Boston flight attendants will be offered VLOA for April. Remember that VLOAs currently offered are only for full month removals. You cannot bid, or pick-up sequences, while out on VLOA.
The sequence construction breakdown for April is as follows;
LAX- Frequencies on the “T” to LAX reduce to three (3) daily departures for spring. As such, we revert to staffing 2 LAX sequences daily. Boston will staff a morning two-day sequence, and a three-day, red-eye return sequence. There are a small handful of timing changes throughout the month, please keep an eye on your report times.
LHR will operate daily throughout the month. April is the first full month of Boston pulling back departure times from LHR to 11am. The layover is now just over 25 hours, with a scheduled arrival in BOS around 13:45 local.
The PHX rocket will operate every day, except Tuesdays, for April.
There are no ODAN’s in the bid packet for April.
There is one charter sequence in the bid packet for April however, it is a single charter leg mixed into a regular domestic 3-day trip.
There are no domestic wide-body sequences in April.
The sequence construction is as follows:

Of our 3-day sequences, 5.1% are 2 duty period trips such as LHR, LAX red-eyes, and sequences that release after midnight. Spring is here, and so are our new hires! Please join us in giving them a warm Boston welcome!
As always, fly safe!
