6.23.26 – CMAP Opt-In Now Available

CMAP Opt-In Now Available
Tuesday, June 23, 2026
The Transportation Security Administration’s new Crewmember Access Point (CMAP) program continues its phased rollout as the eventual replacement for the Known Crewmember (KCM) program. Flight Attendants who wish to participate may now voluntarily opt in through AA’s CMAP Portal.
What You Need to Know
- Participation in CMAP is voluntary, but TSA requires eligible crewmembers to complete a consent form prior to using the program.
- CMAP uses biometric facial comparison technology to verify a crewmember’s identity rather than relying solely on badge verification.
- KCM remains active during the transition period, and Flight Attendants will continue using existing KCM procedures until CMAP is activated at all airports.
- Flight Attendants who choose not to participate in CMAP will continue to access sterile areas through standard TSA passenger screening procedures.
- Flight Attendants should allow up to one business day for crew member identification information to be processed in CMAP.
In other words, you cannot opt-in while standing in-line at the portal, the program may take up to one business day to validate your credentials. Â
Current and Upcoming CMAP Locations
- Washington Regan National – DCA
- Washington Dulles Intl. – IAD
- Las Vegas Harry Reid – LAS ( launching next week)

APFA Will Keep You Updated
As CMAP expands across the system, APFA will continue monitoring the rollout and sharing operationally relevant information with our members, including additional guidance, resources, and TSA updates as they become available.
