InfoReps,

PINS AND WINGS

Everyone should be wearing only an APFA Pin and Wings on their uniform. Management is watching for signs of disunity in our ranks and our actions do have an impact. As APFA President Laura Glading stated in the Membership Outreach Meetings at every base city throughout June: ìIf you are not in compliance with Pins and Wings, you are not helping our effort. If you are not helping our effort, you are hurting it.î Show clearly that you support your APFA Negotiating Team in our fight for a new contract with improved pay, work rules and benefits. If you need additional pins to distribute, email: [email protected] or [email protected].

NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

APFA President Laura Glading and members of your Negotiating Team traveled around the system last month. We visited every base city to bring the members up to date with negotiations and talk about the importance of Membership Involvement. A video of the presentation will be posted on the www.apfa.org website soon. We will be back at the bargaining table with the company on July 20th for two full weeks of intense negotiations.

RUMOR CONTROL

Rumors concerning negotiations continue to spread. Here are the most recent rumors that have come into the department, each followed by the facts. Please continue to forward any rumors to [email protected].

RUMOR:
The Tentative Agreement (T/A) for Article 10-Reserve contains a new Reserve System where all Flight Attendants will serve three (3) days of reserve every month.

FACT:
False. The T/A on Article 10-Reserve does not contain any provision to change the current reserve rotation. The goal is to give those Flight Attendants serving reserve more flexibility and make reserve months less of a financial hardship.

RUMOR:
APFA is negotiating to get rid of Trip Trade Services and all Trip Trades will have to be done through Crew Scheduling.

FACT:
False. APFA has no intention of taking away the Flight Attendantís ability to Trip Trade their own schedule, or the option to use a Trip Trading Service. Our goal is to increase Flight Attendant flexibilities in all area.

RUMOR:
APFA has negotiated away Incentive pay.

FACT: False. Your Negotiating Team will not bring to you a concessionary contract. Period.

NEW APFA WEBSITE

The changeover to the new www.apfa.org website was accomplished yesterday. The new site is more user friendly and easier to navigate. The site will continue to be tweaked and upgraded as we move forward. Stop by and take a look at the new design.

FAA IN NYC

FAA will be in the New York area airports (EWR, JFK, LGA) the week of July 20th conducting manual and compliance checks. Crewmembers flying in and out of these cities should ensure their manuals are up to date and that they comply with all FARs.
