BCBS TX and Sutter Health 

On December 26, 2018, APFA Health was noticed that BCBS TX was in contract negotiations with Sutter Health System, a large hospital system in northern California. Their agreement was set to expire 1/1/19.

While we had expected Sutter Health and BCBS TX to conclude their negotiations with a new contract, it appears they were unable to come to an agreement and have terminated their long-standing relationship.

AA Benefits has assured APFA Health that claims will continue to process at the in-network level for dates of services through June 30, 2019. This will give the 316 impacted members ample time to find new providers in-network. We remain hopeful that BCBS TX and Sutter Health will continue their discussion and come to an agreement.
