Contract Implementation Update #8
Bidding Changes
In this hotline:
- RAP D Changes
- RAP Start Times included in Bid Packet Cover Sheet
- Standby Information Included in Bid Packet Cover Sheet
- Cancelled Sequence in PBS
- Flex Month/ Vacation Monthly Buyback
- Offline Air Transportation
RAP D Changes (12.G)
- RAP D will now be from 1400-0200 HBT for all bases (12.G.1).
The red shows the changes to RAP start times starting with the October 7th ROTA run, compared to the previous months’ times:
- Until electronic notification is implemented, a RAP D Flight Attendant will need to call Crew Scheduling once all departures are airborne and there are no known diversions or returning flights, to be released. Once a Flight Attendant has been released, they are no longer subject to Reserve processing for the remainder of their RAP.
- RAP A can start as early as 0000 HBT (12.G.1). Due to current company FOS/DECS limitations, RAP A will read in DECS/Crew Portal as an 0001 start (12.G.2).
RAP Start Times Included in Bid Packet Cover Sheet (10.C.2.a)
Beginning with the November 2024 bid month, updated RAP start times will be published in the bid packet cover sheet. RAP times may vary from contract month to contract month (12.G.2).
Standby Information Included in Bid Packet Cover Sheet (10.C.2.j)
Beginning with the November 2024 bid month, Standby shifts, including start time, length, and location, will be published in the bid packet cover sheet.
Cancelled Sequence in PBS (10.C.7)
- If a sequence(s) that is on the bid packet and in PBS is canceled during the bidding window (10th-15th of the month), the sequence will be removed from PBS and not awarded.
- If the canceled sequence(s) is awarded, it will be treated as a misaward per 10.D.15.a.
- Flight Attendants shall bid for like sequences in the first TTS run for that bid period following confirmation of PBS misaward.
Flex Month/ Vacation Monthly Buyback (10.D.11.d)
- In any month that the company flexes the maximum, the company must offer monthly vacation (VC) buyback for that month.
Example:
The company identifies the need to flex the maximum in PHL for July 2025. PHL monthly vacation buyback would be awarded May 30th, 2025. The flexed bases would be aware (due to the buyback) that the line values for July may be higher.
- The company may elect not to flex the monthly maximum for Reserves when increasing Lineholder monthly maximums during a flex month. (12.N)
Offline Air Transportation (16.G.15)
Offline Air Transportation (e.g. British Airways, etc.) sequences may not be traded in TTS/UBL/ETB within 48 hours prior to sequence report. We see these sequences for seasonal start-up or seasonal pull-down.
Should a Flight Attendant wish to “no-show” the deadhead and join the first working leg, they would be restricted from changing co-terminals (16.G.11) or deadheading from Commuter’s Designated City (16.G.12). If the first working leg begins in the Commuter’s Designated City, the Flight Attendant is permitted to “no-show” the offline deadhead on the offline carrier (16.G.10).
