Election Notice
Pursuant to Article VI, Section 2 of the APFA Constitution, Notifications of Willingness-to-Serve are now being accepted for the Base Representative positions of Base President, Base Vice President and Base Council Representative (BCR) for the following bases: BOS, CLT, DCA, DFW, LAX, LGA, MIA, ORD, PHL, and PHX. A complete list of duties for Base President, Base Vice President and Base Council Representative (BCR) can be found in Article III, Section 7 of the APFA Constitution.

Willingness-to-Serve Notifications must be electronically submitted by January 25, 2025, at 10:00 am (CT). You MUST be a member in good standing at the time of the closing of the Willingness-to-Serve*. A member is considered in good standing so long as they have met their dues obligation, with no dues in arrears for more than sixty (60) days. (APFA Constitution Article II, Section 4.A-C – Article VI, Section 4.B & 4.D).

*You are strongly encouraged and responsible to check your membership and dues status up until the actual closing of the Willingness-to-Serve deadline. You can access that information at any time by logging into apfa.org. Any balances are displayed in the upper right-hand corner.

Candidate Information
This Willingness-to-Serve is open to all members in good standing. Each candidate must be a member in good standing by January 25, 2025, at 10:00am (CT). Any member in good standing may self-nominate or may nominate another member in good standing. Candidates not self-nominated will be contacted by the National Ballot Committee to confirm their Willingness-to-Serve, per the APFA Policy Manual, Section 14.G.4.a.(2). They must accept the nomination with in three (3) days, or they will not appear on the ballot, so be sure to let them know. Candidate withdrawals must be made within three (3) days after the Willingness-to-Serve due date. Please refer to the APFA Policy Manual, Section 14.G for all Willingness-to-Serve Policies and Procedures.
Instructions for Willingness-to-Serve (WTS)
Any active member in good standing may nominate themselves or another member.
The Willingness-To-Serve (WTS) form is now Electronic. APFA will not accept paper Willingness-To-Serves. The only acceptable form is the electronic form found on the APFA website. There is a signature line at the end of the form that you will need to sign electronically acknowledging you agree to follow the forementioned terms of the WTS policies and procedures. There is also an option to “Save and Continue Progress Later” which you can e-mail yourself a unique link to come back to the form where you left off. The link is valid until the form is submitted or the WTS deadline.
After submitting the WTS form, you will receive a confirmation email containing a copy of your submitted form and an Entry ID# at the email address you provided. You only need to submit the WTS form once. However, if you submit more than one form for any reason, only the most recent submission will be considered.
Each candidate’s information will be reprinted with a consistent format, and no graphics will be included. All candidate biographical information is optional, including personal statements and references. There will be no corrections made to spelling, punctuation, grammar, capitalization, intent or content. If word, line, item limitations, or personal statements are exceeded, they will be cut off at the limit and biographical information will be brought into compliance by deleting the oldest items. You will not be provided an opportunity to make revisions to the candidate booklets provided to the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Membership.
IMPORTANT: If you are nominating another member in good standing, we ask that you fill out any/all sections of the WTS including references, personal statements and biographical information as all of this will be included in the electronic candidate booklet. The individual you are nominating will not have the opportunity to fill these sections out after the WTS is received.
It is your responsibility to inform any listed references that their names will appear on your submitted Willingness-to-Serve and published Candidate Booklet.
Virtual Candidate Forum
On January 27, 2025, at 1300 (CT), the National Ballot Committee will hold a virtual candidate forum. All candidates are strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about the election process and ask questions.
Voter Information
To be able to vote, each APFA member must be a member in good standing no later than March 10, 2025, at 5:00pm (CT). A member will also be eligible to vote if an official APFA payment plan was executed at least thirty (30) days prior to the balloting date, the deadline to be on an executed eligible payment plan is: February 12, 2025, for this election.
