Specific Standby Bidding (CBA 12.I.1.c)
As of July 15th, 2025, ROTA and ROTD have been enhanced to allow specific bidding for Standby. This will allow greater visibility and success when bidding for Standby.
When accessing Crew Portal > Reserves > ROTA/D Bidding, you may now use the Bid Item Specific Standby. This will pull up a table of the scheduled Standby shifts at your base with location, specific start and end times, shift duration, and the minimum number of available days required and number of shifts anticipated to award. While you are able to bid Specific Standby seven (7) days prior as all other ROTA bids, the shifts may change up to noon the day prior. Due to changes in operational requirements, in rare cases the minimum number of available days and projected quantity may change after noon.
Click the check box next to your desired shift(s) and bid selections to bid for Specific Standby. Just like other Reserve bids, if you would like to rank the Specific Standby shifts you must add them as separate bids.
For co-terminal airports, the location will show which co-terminal airport the Standby shift is at.
In a base where multiple locations are available at a single airport (such as DFW), the location will display the terminal location of each Standby shift.
The available Standby shifts shown will be updated if any changes are made by Crew Scheduling. The Generic Standby bid item is still available to allow flexibility to bid for potential created shifts.
As with other specific bid items, Specific Standby is not available for use in a standing bid.
