7.16.25 – Clarification on the Recent “Password Reset” Email

Clarification on the Recent
“Password Reset” Email
Wednesday, July 16, 2025
We are aware that some members recently received an unexpected message about setting or resetting a password. We want to reassure you that there’s no cause for concern.
While testing improvements to our system, a limited number of live email addresses were included in our test environment. This caused the system to mistakenly trigger an automatic email as if a new account had been created.
Here’s what you need to know:
- The email was sent in error.
- Your actual APFA account is safe and unchanged.
- No personal information was exposed or put at risk.
- You can safely disregard the message — no action is needed.
We’ve removed the test accounts and added safeguards to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at [email protected].
In Solidarity,
APFA Membership Department
