9.13.25 – Social Media Reminders

Social Media Reminders
Saturday, September 13, 2025
Social media can be a powerful tool for connecting with each other and for sharing experiences. But it also carries serious risks — especially in today’s workplace environment. Posts that may seem harmless, private, or “off the clock” can be copied, shared, and misinterpreted. American management often receives screen shots of online activity that you may think is private.
Please be aware that Flight Attendants may be disciplined, up to and including termination, for content posted on social media websites including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
Flight Attendants must understand AA’s social media policy and the risks tied to any violation. Management may investigate posts made while on or off duty and impose disciplinary action. Although APFA disagrees with the Company’s severe enforcement of this policy, we urge you to recognize that social media activity may affect your continued employment with AA.
While engaging on any social media platform,
- Always assume that anything you post may become public.
- When in doubt about a post that might violate policy or harm you, check with your Crew Performance Manager first.
- Review the social media policy on AA Jetnet.
- Before sharing any content about AA, confirm it complies with company policy.
- Do not post proprietary documents or information (screenshots from CCI, SABRE, Jetnet, CrewPortal, etc.) on any social media platform.
Thank you for your continued professionalism online and on the job.
