October Implementation Update
October will mark one year since our 2024 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) went into effect. Following this, October 2025 will be a significant milestone for implementing additional items. In the weeks leading up to October, we will be sharing more information and examples of these upcoming changes. This October promises to bring substantial improvements, so please stay informed and share this information with others so that we can all benefit from the hard-won provisions in our CBA.
Coming in October
10.F.1.f – UBL Trip ImprovementÂ
You will be able to use UBL to trade for a same-day origination of same or greater days up until 1500 the day prior to your sequence.
10.F.2.c and 12.J.1, – New UBL Report (OT Distro and Transferred trips)
A new UBL report to display how trips are processed including if they are transferred to another base.
10.F.4.b – UBL Auto Runs to 1900
UBL awards up until 1900 the day prior are awarded with no need for Crew Scheduling to call or the Flight Attendant to acknowledge. This is a change from 1500.
10.G.2.j – ETB Footprint on Pay Protected DaysÂ
You will be able to pick up a sequence from ETB on a day you are pay protected as long as the ETB sequence does not overlap the footprint of the removed trip.
10.G.4.e – Reserve ETB Home Base Rest
An ETB sequence on Reserve days off must release by 1600 HBT the day prior to Reserve duty. This is a change from 1800 HBT.
10.J.11.b –Â Sequence Cancellation Within 3 Hours of Report
When a Flight Attendant is notified less than three hours prior to report that their sequence has cancelled in its entirety, the Flight Attendant will receive three hours pay no credit regardless of if the Flight Attendant has reported to the airport.
10.L.6 –Â Reserve Last Trip
Reserves will be eligible for Last Sequence /Last Series pay protection on an ETB trip on days off if they have no further Reserve obligation in the month.
10.P.2 – Last Live Leg ECS
Use ECS to request a LLL drop or pick-up with no need to call Crew Tracking.
11.O.1 & 5, 14.D.1.b & D.3.b & D.5.b – VE ECS
Use ECS to request, accept, or decline VE when your duty day exceeds the maximum limits.
11.O, 14.D.1 – VE Duty and Pay
Domestic VE will now only be an extension of four hours. Pay will now be 200% pay for the duty period up to the first three hours of the extension. For the fourth hour of extension, VE pay is 300% for the duty period.
Non-Long Range international may extend four hours (a maximum of 20 hours on duty). If the Flight Attendant exceeds 19 hours on-duty, the duty period will be paid 300%.
12.C.2.c – Reserve Trading Days
Reserves will be able to use TTS to trade days off with the company and other Flight Attendants.
12.P.5 ROTD –Â Notification After RAP Starts
Once you have begun your RAP, if you acknowledge a sequence in Crew Portal, Crew Scheduling will not call you to confirm.
12.Q.10 – Standby Callout Report
A new report titled Standby Callout will display all Reserves on Standby, including details such as if the Reserve is pre-boarding a flight, assigned a sequence, or released from duty.
