Contract Implementation Update #44
Increased Transparency for UBL Runs

In this update, we will cover:

  • 10.F.2.c and 12.J.1 – New UBL Report (Open Time Distribution and Transferred trips)
  • 10.F.4.b  – UBL Auto Runs to 1900

UBL Run Summary (10.F.2.c and 12.J.1)

Beginning today, a new UBL Run Summary will be available in TTS under the History tab. This new report will allow you to select a base and date to view all UBL runs including the time run, any awarded sequences, and unawarded sequences in the run.

One of the top priorities Flight Attendants raised in our recent CBA negotiations was the desire for greater transparency within our scheduling systems. This transparent UBL Run Summary represents a major step forward. Many Legacy US Airways Flight Attendants will remember a similar level of clarity from the pre-merger Catcrew operating system, and now we’re bringing that back.

Achieving this transparency was not easy, but it’s a significant win. This new summary will not only make it easier for you to understand and track your trips, it will also give APFA Representatives better tools to resolve pay claims and errors faster and more effectively.

This report will also include an additional section at the bottom to display all sequences transferred out of the base, including the time and to which base they were transferred.

On launch, you will not be able to click the sequence number and view the sequence itself in the report; however this feature is in the works. We look forward to this enhanced transparency to help Flight Attendants see exactly how trips are being covered.

An example of a UBL Run Summary Report:

UBL Auto Runs until 1900 HBT (10.F.4.b)

The final change to UBL for October 1st, 2025, is the adjustment of the UBL Auto Runs to 1900 HBT from the current 1500 HBT.

What this means is that any time UBL is run up until 1900 HBT for the following day, a phone call will not be required to the Flight Attendant that is awarded a sequence and UBL will automatically award the Flight Attendant if their seniority is reached in the run. Be sure to adjust your UBL ballot throughout the day as needed to ensure you are only awarded sequences you intend to fly.

There are no changes to how UBL sequences are awarded after 1900 HBT for the following day; Crew Scheduling will call you unless the call has been waived by unchecking the call box on the UBL ballot or a call is otherwise not required (on another sequence at the time of award). If you miss the call, Crew Scheduling will move on to the next Flight Attendant on the list, but if you answer the call, you will be awarded the sequence.

While the auto runs are now until 1900 HBT for the next day, the ability to drop a sequence in UBL will continue to no longer be considered after 1500 HBT to align with the ROTA run for Reserves.
