Your negotiations team finished the first two days of intensive mediation at the National Mediation Board (NMB) offices in Washington, D.C. On Thursday morning, the parties held separate status conferences with the members of the NMB, followed by negotiations on Thursday and Friday.
Under the Railway Labor Act (RLA), we are prohibited from resorting to “self-help” until the National Mediation Board officially releases us and after the thirty-day cooling-off period concludes.
This week, your negotiating committee heads to Washington, D.C., for intensive mediation in the offices of the National Mediation Board. The mediation sessions take place Thursday and Friday of this week and Tuesday to Friday next week.
APFA and American Airlines Management concluded three weeks of federal mediation yesterday in DFW. Yesterday afternoon, as our string of negotiation dates ended, the parties were directed to meet at the offices of the National Mediation Board (NMB)
Yesterday, Representative Melanie Stansbury (D-NM-01) sent this bipartisan letter to the National Mediation Board, which included the signatures of 178 members of Congress.
Today is the last day that your Representative can sign on to the letter that urges the National Mediation Board (NMB) to enforce deadlines in contract negotiations.

American Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA), are calling on the White House and Congressional leaders to urge the National Mediation Board to utilize all provisions of the Railway Labor Act
American Airlines Flight Attendants have been working for five years without a renewed contract, and management continues to delay a serious offer to complete negotiations.
