Contract Implementation Update #21

“Self-Book” Deadhead
CBA 16.G and H

Coming April 1st

You will now have the option to change your scheduled deadhead to an alternate deadhead on the first or last leg of your sequence using the Self-Book deadhead feature in Crew Portal. Click on ‘DH’ to begin the self-book process (see red circle in the photo below).

When Can I Change My Deadhead?

  • Front-End Deadhead (16.G): Change your deadhead from the 20th at 12 PM (DFW Time) (when bids are final) until 2 hours before departure of scheduled deadhead flight.
  • Back-End Deadhead (16.H): Change your deadhead after signing in for your sequence and up to 1 hour prior to scheduled deadhead.
  • Back-End Deadhead/Return to Crew Base Same Day of Last Live Leg (16.H.4.b): Change your deadhead after last working leg and up until 1 hour prior to scheduled deadhead.

Tip: Make bookings early for better seat availability.

I Changed My Deadhead. Now What?

Flight Attendants are required to contact Crew Scheduling/Crew Tracking to notify them of a No-Show for the originally scheduled deadhead.

  • Front-End (16.G): Notify promptly after booking.
  • Back-End (16.H): Notify after your last live leg debrief or upon booking, if after debrief of your last live leg.

Tip: Keep a record of your alternate flight number to import into Travel Planner.

Go to Jetnet > Travel Planner > Trips > Import > Enter Your PNR or Flight Info > Click Import Again

Key Reminders

  • You can book an alternate deadhead from the 50 states and Puerto Rico
  • Reserves:
    • 16.G– Crew Scheduling approval will not be unreasonably withheld
    • 16.H – With Crew Tracking consent
  • Lineholders: 16.G & 16.H– You are notifying Crew Scheduling or Tracking of your No-Show election
  • Once you make any changes to your original scheduled deadheads, the trip can NOT be dropped or traded in any of the scheduling tools.
  • Review your designated commuter city by clicking on your profile in Crew Portal.
