Injury on Duty (IOD) Information and Support
Friday, August 22, 2025
If you are injured at work, it is essential to seek medical treatment as soon as possible. You have the legal right to report your injury to American Airlines without fear of retaliation. Experiencing an Injury on Duty (IOD) can be a challenging time, but you are not alone; support and resources are available to help guide you through the process.
When you suffer an Injury on Duty (IOD), it’s essential to file your report accurately to ensure your case is handled correctly. If you need assistance with filing, please refer to the Filing an Injury on Duty (IOD) Report hotline.
Once your claim is reported, you will receive an Injury on Duty (IOD) brochure/packet via email. This contains essential information about your benefits, nurse case managers, networks, and next steps. We recommend reviewing it carefully to gain a better understanding of the support available to you.
We are pleased to inform you that Sedgwick now offers 24/7 support to assist with any questions related to workers’ compensation. This service is designed to simplify the process and make it more accessible if you are injured on the job or have questions regarding your claim, pay, or other concerns.
You can reach the Sedgwick Concierge Line at 866-HELP-OJI (866-435-7654) for assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Concierge Team can help you with:
- Understanding your workers’ compensation benefits
- Navigating your claim
- Setting up your mySedgwick account
- Contacting your examiner or leaving a message
- Locating your check, and much more
This number is answered 24/7, every day of the week. APFA encourages you to call if you have questions about your claim or need assistance. However, this should not replace setting up an account at mysedgwick.com to monitor your claim.
If you have any questions about this information, please don’t hesitate to contact an APFA IOD Representative on Duty at 817-540-0108 (press 1 for a representative, then press 3), or email the IOD department at [email protected].
