12.03.25 – Reserve Acknowledgement Issues: LOA to Remove TMs for Impacted Reserves

Reserve Acknowledgement Issues:
LOA to Remove TMs for Impacted Reserves
Wednesday, December 3, 2025
APFA has secured a Letter of Agreement (LOA) related to the reserve acknowledgment issues. The issues occurred from October 1st through November 18th, 2025, and were resolved by November 19th, 2025. In this LOA, the company agrees to the removal of missed trips (TM) and other related disciplinary codes from the attendance records of impacted Reserve Flight Attendants.
As we shared in a recent hotline, we saw an uptick in missed trips for Reserve Flight Attendants after the company discontinued the practice of making “courtesy calls” for certain reserve assignments.
We identified three issues that were driving the increase in missed trips:
- Lack of clarity around when Reserves are required to electronically acknowledge a reserve assignment.
- Inconsistencies around when the company is required to make phone calls to notify of a reserve assignment.
- Intermittent issues with the reliability of the reserve acknowledgement button in Crew Portal.
The company has since put out communications clarifying both Flight Attendant and Crew Scheduling responsibilities when a Reserve is given an assignment. Additionally, the company has completed work to fix the issues with the reserve acknowledgement button.
The LOA includes an attachment listing the impacted Reserve Flight Attendants and the date(s) of the missed trip(s) or other codes that will be removed. This agreement will result in the removal of nearly 640 disciplinary codes. Reserve Guarantees will be restored, updates will be made to MyView, and levels of discipline will be adjusted. Banked points will also be restored if taken because of these removals.Reserves who received a missed trip for any reason other than a reserve acknowledgment issue will not be eligible under this agreement.
The company will send a CCI/Comply 365 Crew Message to the Flight Attendants listed in the attachment, advising them of the adjustments to their attendance records.
