Building Connections That Matter

Social Wellness Month | APFA EAP Peer Support

Who checks in on the people who spend their days checking in on everyone else?

As Flight Attendants, we dedicate our days to helping passengers feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Yet with irregular schedules, long duty days, time away from home, and changing crews, it’s easy to lose touch with the people who help us stay grounded.

This Social Wellness Month, make connection a priority. A simple text, a phone call, sharing a meal on a layover, or checking in with a fellow crew member can make a meaningful difference—for them and for you.

Why Connection Matters

Strong social connections can:

  • Reduce stress and feelings of isolation
  • Improve emotional well-being and overall mood
  • Build resilience during life’s challenges
  • Strengthen our sense of community and belonging
  • Remind us that we never have to face life’s challenges alone

You’re Part of a Crew—On and Off the Aircraft

Some of the strongest support comes from people who truly understand the unique challenges of our profession. Your APFA EAP Peer Support Team is made up of fellow Flight Attendants who are here to listen without judgment, offer confidential support, and connect you with helpful resources whenever needed.

Whether you’re navigating a personal challenge, work-related stress, or simply need someone to talk to, you don’t have to go through it alone.

This Month, Make One Connection

  • Check in with a coworker after a trip.
  • Call a friend or family member you’ve been meaning to reach out to.
  • Share a coffee or meal with a fellow Flight Attendant on a layover.
  • Thank someone who made a positive difference in your day.
  • Reach out to the APFA EAP Peer Support Team—it only takes one conversation to get started.

Remember…

The strongest crews are built on trust, compassion, and connection. The relationships we create and the support we give one another make us stronger—both on the aircraft and in our everyday lives.

This Social Wellness Month, take a moment to reach out, check in, and stay connected.

Every conversation matters. Every connection counts.

Need Someone to Talk To?

Your APFA EAP Peer Support Team is here to provide confidential support, compassionate listening, and connections to additional resources whenever you need them. You are never alone.
