1.08.25 – Southern California Wildfires

Wednesday, January 8, 2025

The wildfires spreading across Southern California are the most destructive the region has ever experienced. As of this writing, the Palisades fire, west of Los Angeles, has burned 18 square miles, the Eaton fire, north of Pasadena, has burned almost 17 square miles, and the Hurst fire in the San Fernando Valley has burned about 0.8 square miles. Over 70,000 residents are under evacuation orders, and 1.5 million are without power.

APFA EAP is standing by to assist Flight Attendants affected by these devastating wildfires.

In addition to EAP, the Wings Foundation Disaster Relief Fund is available to assist flight attendants whose primary residence has been damaged by natural disasters.

If you’re able, please consider donating to the Wings Foundation Disaster Relief fund. This is the most effective way to help fellow flight attendants directly affected by these fires.
