CQ Module Presidential Grievance Filed:
CBA Section 29.G

American Airlines is violating the contract by underestimating the time it takes to complete this year’s CQ WBTs. The company is refusing to compensate Flight Attendants for the actual time the modules require. As a result, APFA has filed a Presidential Grievance demanding the company pay Flight Attendants for their actual time.

The Inflight training department, reporting directly to Bobbi Wells, Vice President of Inflight, estimates the modules take 7 hours and 40 minutes to complete.

We know the training department’s estimate is unrealistic.

Flight Attendants who have done the WBTs and attended CQ in the 2025-2026 cycle have submitted documentation proving the modules are taking, on average, 12 or more hours.

CBA 29.G.2 clearly states: “The total number of hours required to complete any Distance Learning shall not exceed eight (8) hours.”

The Presidential Grievance demands the following remedy:

• The company must pay an additional $150.00 to each Flight Attendant who completes the 2025–2026 CQ WBT modules, per CBA 29.E.1.
• The company must structure the WBT modules for 2026–2027, and future years, to ensure compliance with Section 29.G.2 of the CBA.
