Contract Implementation Update #28
No-Show Your Deadhead via the Electronic Communication System
Beginning May 22, 2025, you may now use the ECS (Electronic Communication System) to contact Crew Scheduling and Crew Tracking to no-show your scheduled deadhead. This function is enabled in version 2.1, which will automatically update on your EFB and online PWA version. If you’ve downloaded ECS to your personal device, please update the ECS app to access the latest features.
When you use the self-book tool on Crew Portal to change your deadhead, you will now use ECS to communicate your desire to no-show your original deadhead with no phone calls to Crew Scheduling/ Tracking. The same timeline applies when using ECS to no-show.
- For a front-end deadhead (CBA 16.G), notify Crew Scheduling promptly after self-booking your deadhead.
- For a back-end deadhead (CBA 16.H), contact Crew Tracking after your last live leg debrief period.
Instructions to No-Show Your Deadhead in the ECS App:
Press the “Contact AA” button to begin the notification process (click all images to enlarge):
Press “No Show Deadhead”:
Fill in your deadhead information, including flight number and airport station code:
After inputting your information, click “No Show 1 Deadhead”:
Once you’ve submitted your request to no-show, Crew Scheduling or Crew Tracking will process your request. You will receive a message when your request is assigned to a Tracker/Scheduler and then a response in ECS notifying you the request has been completed. If your request is denied, you will receive a message instructing you to call as further information is required.
This is the first of many new ways ECS will allow Flight Attendants to communicate with Crew Scheduling, Tracking, and the Hotel/Limo desks. We will update as more features are added to this system.
