3.04.26 – AA Leadership Failures Now Target Crew Hotels

American Airlines, led by CEO Robert Isom, continues to lag its premium competitors and seeks cost cuts to close its earnings gap with Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. Those cost-cutting efforts are now targeting our strong, contractually compliant hotel portfolio.

3.04.26 – Doha Crew Arrives Home

We are deeply grateful to welcome home our ten Flight Attendants and four Pilots who were stranded in Doha amid a rapidly evolving geopolitical situation. On February 27th, the Crew departed Philadelphia for what was expected to be a routine trip.

3.03.26 – Unpaid VLOAs for April 2026

In accordance with CBA 25.B, full month, unpaid Voluntary Leaves of Absence (VLOAs) are being offered for the April 2026 bid month at all bases. Bidding for April 2026 full month, unpaid VLOAs opened today, Tuesday, March 3, at 1200 (CT).

2.23.26 – Primary Round of 2026-27 Vacation Bidding Closes Wednesday

The Primary Round of Vacation Bidding will close on Wednesday, February 25 at 12 PM (CT). Primary Round awards will be posted no later than Monday, March 2 at 12 PM (CT).

The APFA National Ballot Committee (NBC) would like to remind all members that there is a Willingness-to-Serve (WTS) posted on the APFA website for the position of Ad Hoc Member to the Executive Committee, Place #1 and #2.

Coverage Needed (CN) is a term applied to any day in a bid month when not enough Flight Attendants bid in PBS to fly on that day. PBS will award as many Flight Attendants as possible to be off on a particular day.

The APFA Constitution Article IX Section 4.B requires that there be no less than one (1) Regional Representative for each four thousand (4,000) APFA Members, or fraction thereof. Our seniority list is now above 28,000, which triggers the requirement

Calling in Well (CIW) for intermittent FMLA allows you to fly over the footprint of a trip for which you have called in sick. You must have an approved intermittent FMLA leave on file with the Absence and Return Center (ARC). You must have FMLA days available.

The Board of Directors of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA), reflecting the collective voice of 28,000 American Airlines Flight Attendants, took the necessary step of issuing a unanimous vote of no confidence in CEO Robert Isom.

The 2024 CBA updated the commuter policy (CBA 37.I) effective October 2024 to the following: Expanded the First Flight qualifiers to include Sufficient Seats (load factor less than 90%) within 24 hours prior to departure.
