7.11.26 – Earlier Descent Procedures Are About One Thing: Safety

One month has passed since the implementation of the revised descent procedures, and we wanted to take a moment to revisit why these changes were made and why they remain so important. These procedures were not created simply to change the way we work.

7.10.26 – Save the Date: August 25th Reserve Training

APFA’s National Contract and Scheduling Departments will conduct a Reserve training session for all Flight Attendants on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 1 pm – 2 pm CT. This training will be a hybrid in-person and virtual event. There will be a limited number of slots to attend in-person

7.10.26 – CMAP Expands to DFW and ORD on July 12th

The Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Crewmember Access Point (CMAP) program will continue its phased rollout beginning the week of July 12th, with DFW and ORD joining the growing list of participating airports.

7.08.26 – ROTA/ROTD Acknowledgement Receipts in ECS

We continue to receive reports of reserve acknowledgement issues. In some cases, Reserve Flight Attendants are properly acknowledging assignments in Crew Portal, but are later assessed a missed trip because the acknowledgement was not successfully recorded.

7.07.26 – NASEM: Flight Crewmember Radiation Exposure Requires FAA Action

A new congressionally mandated report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) confirms what APFA Flight Attendants have long known: radiation exposure is an occupational hazard that deserves stronger oversight and protection.

8.15.25 – Update: Sit Rig Time & Pay Presidential Grievance/Sit Rig Overpayment CBA Section 11.D.6

American Airlines is violating the newly negotiated Sit Rig pay provisions in CBA 11.D.6. In July, APFA filed a Presidential Grievance calling on the company to abandon their blatant disregard for this hard-fought provision.

8.14.25 – CQ Module Presidential Grievance Filed: CBA Section 29.G

American Airlines is violating the contract by underestimating the time it takes to complete this year’s CQ WBTs. The company is refusing to compensate Flight Attendants for the actual time the modules require.

A new report titled Standby Forecast was added to Crew Portal > Reserves on the evening of August 13th, 2025. This report is the implementation of CBA 12.Q.8, which will be implemented early

8.13.25 – Hot Cabin Report Form and National Academies Study on Aircraft Cabin Temperature
